Matt Pourfarzaneh, Ph.D.
Matt has more than 25 years of scientific and management experience in both industry and academic settings. He is the founder and former President of Cortex Biochem. Cortex Biochem develops proprietary technologies based on magnetic particles and reagents for the diagnostic industry. Matt also has extensive experience in managing product research and commercialization at Boehringer Mannheim, Microgenics, Triton Bioscience, International Diagnostics, and St. Bartholomew Hospital (London, UK).
Sandy has more than 25 years of industrial experience in marketing and sales business development and company management. In his most recent position as the founder and president of BiosPacific, he successfully developed, manufactured and commercialized antibodies, antigens and other ancillary reagents, the key ingredients for the diagnostic and life science industries. BiosPacific was acquired by R&D Systems, Minneapolis, MN, in July of 2005.
Dokhi Nargessi, Ph.D.
Chief Scientific Officer & Vice President, R & D
Dokhi has over 25 years of broad scientific and management experience in academia and biotech industry. Her focus has been on product research, development and commercialization in the areas of molecular diagnostics, immunoassays, cancer diagnostics and infectious diseases. As Vice President of R&D/QA at Cortex Biochem, Inc., San Leandro, CA, she pioneered the development of a new line of innovative and proprietary research tools for molecular diagnostics applications. Her efforts have led to the successful sales of Cortex Biochem to Promega Corporation. Dokhi has held various scientific and management positions at Chiron Diagnostics, Ciba Corning Diagnostics, Triton Diagnostics and Triton Biosciences. Dokhi received her Ph.D. in Chemical Pathology from London University, UK. In addition, she has a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from University of Tehran. She has published extensively and is inventor or co-inventor of 12 patents.
Barbara has more than 20 years of management experience in the biotech industry. She is a founder and former CFO of BiosPacific, which grew from a start up to over $8 million in revenues upon being acquired by R&D Systems in July 2005. Barbara also has extensive experience in human resource development.
